Obtaining an apostille for a document in California can streamline the process of international document verification. The California Secretary of State validates public official signatures on documents (international certificates) for use outside the United States. Whether an Apostille or Authentication of Legalization is required depends on the destination country, as per the Hague Convention.

Prior to requesting an apostille, ensure that the document is issued or notarized by a California public official or properly certified by a California County Clerk. Once this is confirmed, verify that the country for which the document is to be used is included in the Hague Convention list of countries. It’s crucial to ensure that all documents are correctly completed and signed before submitting them for apostille certification, authentication or legalization. Any errors or missing information can lead to delays in processing or rejection of the application altogether.

Apostille Pinoy offers obtaining California Apostille services and authentications for various documents such as birth certificates, notarized transcripts, and legal documents.

Our service fee for a routine apostille within 3-5 business days is $175 per document, which excludes the Secretary of State fee of $26 ($20 filing fee + $6 counter fee). Should you need your document processed immediately, our service fee for a rush apostille within 24 hours from receipt of the document(s) is $275 per document, exclusive the Secretary of State fee of $26 ($20 filing fee + $6 counter fee).
